I pledge to communicate with you. Contractors have an incredibly bad reputation for not returning calls or showing up. If I am working with you, I will return calls or emails promptly, show up when I say I’m coming, and call if I am not able to make it. I have occasionally gotten a job because I was the only contractor that showed up. 

I will strive to be complete in my assessment of your project. I will not lowball up front with the intent of adding extras in later that should have been included. This has occasionally caused my initial estimate to be higher than others, but often my price includes things that others do not. 

I will be the one that both estimates and does your job. I will be in contact with you every day. This means that from start to finish, you will be dealing with me -- not a salesperson, then the owner, then a job superintendent. On some jobs I will have help and use subcontractors, but I will be in constant contact with you. Once I start a project, I will work until it’s done, and there will be no large gaps between progress. 

I can deal with changes. I am willing to work with you in ways that most contractors would consider too time-intensive. I am comfortable with you adding to or subtracting from the job scope, and I will always try to be clear when changes will come with additional cost. I will do my best to work with you within your budget, whatever that may be. I will strive to accommodate your household needs during the construction process. I know what it’s like to live through remodeling!

I run my business ethically. I want to price a job in a manner that is fair to both you and me. I will treat you the way I would like to be treated.
